Art Things Annapolis - a little art shop with big plans.
Did I ever tell you that I purchased an art supply store? Well, I did, in October, and it’s delightful and quirky and SMALL. I purchased it with a dear friend of mine (Katie G., you’ll hear more about her throughout). We are getting to know the space, the objects, and the people. I haven’t worked retail in a minute, in fact, it’s been more like four score and seven years ago — but here I (we) am/are, and it’s been another deep dive into things I don’t know about and am figuring out on the fly. Like super fly! After a year of some personal strife and health woes, this springtime feels full and expectant and, more importantly, a bit unknowable and slightly wobbly, which also feels just right. We’ve got grand plans for the tiny shop-it’s got so much potential and heart. It’s called Art Things Annapolis, and while it’s a shop that’s been around for a while and folks have very strong feelings about what it should become, Katie and I are making our way, at our own pace, with our own sense of dreaming and doing. Come visit. We are inside Maryland Hall, on the ground floor, by the Bowen Theatre. More to come in the tales of shop land.
